Ever wanted to try your hand at competitive armwrestling? There's more to it than you'd expect, and training for it can help improve your grip, endurance, and explosive activation, which have carryover to strongman, olympic lifting, and powerlifting. Plus, for those with a competitive spirit, there's the excitement of directly facing off against opponents.

The Jakked Armbreakers are the newest strength sport team at Jakked Hardcore Gym, meeting every Saturday at 10 AM. In addition, we're happy to announce that starting June 7th, every Thursday at 7pm at the Saddle Up Saloon in Aurora will be "Roadhouse Thursday", featuring open amateur competition and a free seminar. Competition winners will receive free entry into upcoming sanctioned events with cash prizes.

Don't forget that next Saturday, the 2nd, is the 2012 Jakked Hardcore Powercorps Challenge, right here at Jakked Hardcore Gym. There's no admission fee, so grab your lawn chairs, invite your friends, and head on over for a solid day of strongman action as only Jakked can deliver.

May means warmth, May means flowers, May means bodybuilding! May 12th was Illinois State Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure, Bikini, Wheelchair & Physique in Chicago. Toula Coffey represented Jakked Hardcore Gym, placing 3rd in the Masters Figure class and 4th in Figure Open. A week later, Bridget Backhaus took the stage at the Grand Prix Natural Figure & Novice in Rockford and had a strong showing in the bikini class.

That's just the start of the summer season, with more competitions quickly on the way. Next up is the NPC Jr Nationals in Chicago on June 15th-16th. See you there!
